iPhone worm creator land in a job – rewarded?

I dont have iphone for myself, couple of my friend does and heard about the worm ‘ikee’, today i heard the worm creator actually rewarded than punished, is it correct?

Ashely towns, 21 year old australian, wrote first ever iphone worm, got a job at mogeneration a iphone app developing company.
Just wondering if he shown that worm creating experience as app development? Well it is logical, demonstrates his experience, but its not good, he hurt some iphone’s with his app..
