some of the life lessons you can learn from trekking
1. you cannot know everything about life and your journey ahead
even though with all these modern day gps equipments, you can define the route you will take for the trek, but the experience still remains the mystery each time you trek that path, and there is nothing like you should always stick to the route plan, you can always deviate and come back on track.
2. know you destination, but live today.
you should know where you are headed to and the trail you are following to reach the place, but you cannot always look at that and keep walking, you should pay very good attention and care for your current steps, ensure the step you make is good, aligned towards your destination trail etc
3. to win sometimes you need to loose.
sometimes there will be time you want to go ahead for various reasons, but if you are competitive jerk you will spoil your mood as well as others, and the trekking going to be annoying, sometimes to go ahead, you need to slow down, give way to others to pass, and recognize the easy and speed path to take without disturbing others and then proceed, you will be ahead of them all mostly, even if you loose and fell off you will have them to lend hands to help you out.
4. you can live alone, but you need people to have fun.
you can always navigate and move on in the forest all alone, but it will be much fun and easier when you have people coming along with you, starting from the security, food sharing, campfire, help etc. trekking is team sport.
5. there is no one perfect way to achieve greatness.
the trail or even the smaller steps being followed by someone is not necessarily the easy for us as well, sometimes we may have to take alternative.
6. heavier your baggage(commitments) is, slower you become.
when trekking, travel agile, heavier your backpack is, slower you will be, carry only the essential and all those unnecessary cut it down, when you travel lighter you will be happier, faster, and enjoying the journey and finally with the minimal carrier baggage you will be happy enough at the base too, dont complain you didnt bring enough food and sleeping bag to keep lighter, they are essential.
7. even lighter baggage gets annoying if not tied properly
even you lighter baggage will become annoying when you did not pack them properly, you will need to take care of it every now and then, you will never enjoy the trek, be very slow, annoy others as well.
8. always lend hands and help others when you are having good foot hold.
yes, always lend hands and help others when you have foot hold, this will keep you happy, win new friends, make you be in control.
9. smile and spread happiness
you can see few trekkers who will breath and swear as if they are doing things out of pain, being like that is ok, but it is even better when you smile and enjoy the moment, everyone near you will feel the enthusiasm. spread happiness, crack jokes you will have bunch of people around you all the time.
