Cisco released CRS-3 Carrier Routing System
Mar 10th
Cisco released CRS-3 Carrier Routing System , next gen super high speed 322 tbps routing system, CRS-3 is powered by cisco’s hexa-core quantumFlow Array Processors, they employ IPv6 smart traffic routing. can handle traffic upto 322 TPBS, its three times faster than previous router CRS-1 and 13 times the competition as per their website.
Cisco offered some attention grabing examples, like "the entire printed collection of the Library of Congress to be downloaded in just over one second; every man, woman and child in China to make a video call, simultaneously; and every motion picture ever created to be streamed in less than four minutes."
it is said company spent around $1.6BUSD in developing CRS products, AT&T is the first to trial the CRS-3.
Cisco CEO John Chambers says that Internet traffic to grow at “200-500 percent per year” as bandwidth-intensive activities like downloading and streaming video continue to explode
Google too working on speeder internet, that should give 1Gbps, right now they are trying out in Kansas, USA.
why i hate the ivr’s as a customer?
Mar 10th
- music and promo message: first and foremost is the annoying hold music, repeated promo message.i really don’t understand when we live in a caller tune and background music while in call era, why not allow customer in hold or queue to select what he want to listen?
- duration: maybe if i am allowed to select what i want to listen in queue/hold, i wouldn’t complain, but still the duration is still a annoying factor, but that can be solved by keeping the customer engaged.
- information collection: there are some fancy ambitious customer cares, which want to collect details at ivr phase as others do but they never give to customer representative’s screen pop.
- long menu or no escape available: i don’t understand why don’t menu designers reserve a dtmf to go back to main menu or direct transfer to customer care any time, some times you will end up in a road block menu and what next? call again and do it from the start.
Google buzz and google map’s latitude soon going to be married
Mar 10th
Google buzz and google map’s latitude soon going to be married(via: eweek), most you know what google buzz is if you’re a gmail user, also latitude if you use google maps extensively,
google latitude, it will share your whereabouts to your friends, eg: you run google maps application, and it joined latitude program, and have the google maps application run all the time, you’re friends will know were are you right now etc. it is fun at the same time huge privacy problem, now they have alert service to remind the users that their location is being shared.
google buzz, have privacy issues too, it will expose all my google contacts to public, and if you are not careful and spend enough time with it, you never know who is reading your updates, next time someone from next cubicle smiling at you strangely go check it out, if you have buzzed anything weird to your friends, i mean all your friends.
with these two major privacy issues, i cant imagine, this two joining hands, this is going to be very big privacy discussion yet to happen. just imagine, everybody know where are you moving, what are you doing, what areyou thinking… lol reminds me “truman show” movie.
already these privacy stuff started eating me, not just google buzz and latitude, there are many other. there should be a application that promises “ just tell me, i will not tell anyone.” i see a huge market for it.
Google wave now notify the updates to your email
Mar 5th
Finally google wave ready to do a bit to reach outside world, now it will send notification to your email id, whenever there’s a update at your wave, if you got added to new wave, etc.
I dont think they’re going to send out a micro updates like a email for each and every updates at wave, that will be annoying for sure.
Also it seems like you will get update notification even for the changes made by you, i think it comes under known bug.
Seriously, anyone using the google wave for anything serious? I used it for couple of consulting project i worked on, my client insisted on that, end of the work we were talking much in google talk and hardly used google wave at later.
Anyways, google wave started doing bit to reach outside world, i hope it will start talking to others as well like email, social network, blog etc… you can google.

tweeter’s advert dream..how far or close?
Mar 3rd
Recently read a article from gigaom, that twitter trying to set up a advertisement medium like google did. I have mixed feeling about, this can be good for both – users and twitter or suicidal for twitter alone.
Why twitter cant follow food steps of google, facebook in twitter?
Simple, google and facebook serve their visitors on their webpage, but twitter is different, they serve their users from anywhere, i.e any twitter clients, not necessary visit twitter website anymore once account created and patched with twitter client.
What they can do now?
1. Either they need to lure their users to start using the website primarily. In this case there will be loss of users, many comfortable tweeting from the client tools.
2. Force client tools to display the twitter adverts. – this might be feasible, but again how far the tweet clients going to agree is the big question. Again, will client ok with this, for instance i tweet ONLY from my mobile using gravity tweeter client, i will be annoyed to see adverts in my client.
3. Else post the advert tweets between actual tweets, this is already happening, some third party players will send across the adverts need to be tweeted and you post it, and they pay you based on clicks, views etc.
Probably tweeter will choose what is happening in 3rd point with some customization, they might capture the geo location, frequently used hash tags, tweeted subjects, following people, and being followed by etc and decide what kind of advert will suit them and their followers and send across the advert text and ask us to tweet, to be less annoying, and probably share money or some sort of karma points etc.
