Twitter at last ready to fill the gap for inbuilt  url shortner, yesterday they announced the inbuilt url shortner soon to be rolled on in their blog post. many twitter would have got annoyed at some point of time, unable to shorten their url and accommodate the comments for it, and finally end up not sharing the link at all.

there are many third party providers like bit.ly, i am not sure how bit.ly going to survive on this. from the blog post they might use t.co as the url, they are not just going to short the long url’s also the urls shortened already using other shortner.

hope bit.ly have plans, and twitter is getting exciting.

wow, very simple and innovative idea –

assign email id to your printer and have it connected to web – send the documents needs to be printed to the email id assigned to the printer, then printer will have the documented printed for you

awesome idea isn’t it? HP came up with this – HP ePrintCenter, this achieved by assigning unique email id for email printer, I’m pretty sure they thought about spam’s and give option to reset email id’s.

this is even awesome, they can get a news or content feed printed, they can set the time frequency and schedule for the same, its like a newspaper printed in your home itself :)

image

i just love this innovative idea from HP.

news announcement details here

if you already have a HP printer that is connected to network with internet access you can do the configuration, visiting HP ePrintCenter, you can login using google, aol and major accounts, it will ask for HP printer code, rite now i dont have HP printer, so couldnt try further, if any of you tried, let me know.

Generator research recently predicted that the wordwide market for mobile payment will be $633.4 billion by 2014, in 2009 it was $68.7 billion. thats the enormous difference in years to come, when i think about mobile payment, but i get different ideas how this payment transaction take place – like transfering a amount via installed application to the account, using the mobile browser and make payment online, charge customer with their mobile bill, in more advance using the mobile handset itself like we swipe our credit card, show mobile over payment instrument similar to credit card swiping.

but one thing for sure the mobile payment has enormous growth within, by seeing apps market for apple, android and other, there will be more applications coming up – we need a unified body to monitor all the transaction, probably paypal, visa, mastercards will take over.

Read interesting article in gigaom about HP Labs design for Farm waste Data center eco system.

HP presented its paper at ASME international conference on energy sustainability in phoenix, that is dairy cow’s poop can be used to power a data center, see the image attached below.

  • starting with 10,000 dairy cows, in average cow produces 120 pounds of manure per day
  • using that average produced manure, can generate 3.0kWh of electrical energy
  • the wastes are processed at anaerobic digestion plant, produces methane gas that used to power generation

if you see closely, in india – early days yeah almost till great grandparent days, they used cows poop to produce their energy – to power their stove, heating system etc :) they didnt realize the full potential earlier but they knew they had the power.

HP is buying struggling Palm for USD 1 billion in cash, this enables HP into deeper smartphone market, and helps in its ambition for webOS, HP paying USD 5.70 per share.
I’ve had Palm TX, which was awesome once, but soon i started hating the device, not just the Palm TX but the entire touch screen smartphone’s, thats the root cause reason i prefer Nokia E71 over iphone, company lacked in support, no competitive edge, while all companies were moving towards in a direction to improvement, Palm ran in a direction for destruction, i’m a serious hater of Palm, but i hope this deal with HP will be doing any good for both.
To my knowledge, Palm hold copyright patents for concepts for many smartphone and handheld devices, since they were the early birds in this.

lets this will improve Palm in future and both companies get benefitted.
