Opera 10.10 is released, its a web browser as well as a web server, i’m a big fan of opera for its simplicity and power, i wish its my primary browser but isnt, many sites wouldnt open currently for me mostly the payment gateways. Ok back to web browser and a web server capability in opera 10.10, necessary addition?

Yes, i guess, everyone is moving towards cloud computing, instead of keeping data in our computer

While all are concentrating on cloud computing and emphazing on it, opera listened to few users who isnt comfortable with cloud computing. Wonderful step by opera.

Other interesting feature is turbo, it compresses the website at opera server and increase speed.
Will give it a try this weekend.

DVD Knife – review

14 Nov 2009

Are you watching some nice movie dvd’s this weekend and think to clip some scenes from the dvd for viewing later?

Well this isnt a easy work, you need to convert entire video to some other format then do the clip process with the tools, found out about this tool called DVD knife from lifehacker, it will just clips the video where you set the start and end point, the selected clip will be saved as vob file, you can convert it later.

My hard disc is running out of space both in laptop as well as in my desktop, with so many movies in desktop and i still dont understand whats filling my laptop hard disc did all possible scans, anyways for now both my desktop and laptop hard disc’s are running put of space, i’ve serious thought to buy a external hard disc when i did a lil search i made up my mind to stick with transcend its cheaper and looking better, will place order in ebay.

Mean time the thought on running out of space strike my mind.

  1. we’re living in the age of where internet is reasonably cheap, good connectivity, good speed to notice.
  2. Most of the content we just wanna save and access it later when needed are multimedia contents eg: movie, musics, pictures, etc.
  3. We’d love to save our contents online if we have confident that our content are as safe as we save in our very own hard disc. no worry abour copyright or security.
  4. Access to our content anywhere and in any medium including music and movie players, cell etc.

I think what youtube, google video, picasa, flickr, are doing is good, but this is not enough, we need something like gmail to email.

Someone ready to give unlimited hard disc space, easy access/usability, multi client type support, secured access(say i wont check your content).

Gigaom’s interview with elemental technologies ceo and co founder Sam Blackman, is very useful read further.

1. Avast
I’m using it personally for both my desktop and laptop, constant update is very good, never felt in either of my machines

2. AVG
I’ve tried it in the past, dont know how it is now, but many people seem to be happy with it.

3. Avira

4. Microsoft Security Essentials

5. ESET Nod32 Antivirus

I’ve nokia s60v3 device(e71), at some point i have thought like i should have buyed apple iphone despite the fact i hate touch screens, for all its glossy apps and all the sync apps for rtm, evernote, twitter… but today after reading gigaom article on apple’s voip functionality, i’m happy i didnt buy apple iphone, i hate too much control.
Apple isnt allowing voip calls over 3G, which prevents nimbuzz, truphone and fring to work, is it working in india for iphone users?
